Gear up, people! The 2008 New York International Auto Show drives into town this weekend, parking at the Javits Center itself from March 21st to the 30th. The NYT offers a comprehensive review for attendees and armchair enthusiasts alike. While the show unveils new consumer-focused ’08 and ’09 models, geeky gawkers will be more intrigued by the impractical but totally awesome concept cars. Drool over the latest midlife-crisis-ready sports cars, like this Maserati GrandTurismo 4.7. They don’t call them hot rods for nothin’!
Admission is $14 for adults, $4 for children and can be purchased online here. The MTA is offering discount packages for travel on LIRR and Metro-North. Public show dates are Friday March 21st through Sunday March 30th, 11am – 10:30pm (Sundays: 10am – 7pm). The Javits Center is located at 11th Ave. between 34th and 39th streets (655 W. 34th St.) in Manhattan.
