If you can use (or stand) a night in, tune that dial to PBS tomorrow to watch the New York Philharmonic’s historic performance in North Korea. Over 14,000 people attended the performance in N. Korea, and the Phil stipulated that they would only play if the concert were broadcast nationwide for the enjoyment of the Korean people (on one of their only 3 channels!).

Interspersed throughout the program, journalistic footage provides riveting commentary on North Korea’s history and culture and unprecedented glimpses into daily life. The music moves the soul, but these vignettes enthrall.

The concert was broadcast on NYC’s channel Thirteen/WNET last evening, but it will be shown on other PBS stations tomorrow night (Thursday, Feb. 28). Better yet, watch it online. Check you local listings for time and channel data.
