If the womb had cool lighting and a soundtrack, The Dream House would be it. Tucked behind a Tribeca facade, The Dream House bathes its visitors in ambient light and music, providing a peaceful retreat from the bustle below. The MELA (Music Eternal Light Art) Foundation’s La Monte Young and Marian Zazeela are the architects of the installation, which has been calming New Yorker’s for 14 years. So pull up a pillow and become one with this tiny corner of the universe.
The Dream House is located at 275 Church Street, 3rd Floor. The environment is open Thursdays and Saturdays from 2:00 PM to Midnight. Suggested donation is $4.
Hello piegirl – This looks really nice/calming….now I’m just going to wander off all nice and chilled, and take look at some more of your blog…:)
To sleep, perchance to dream – it sounds like a lovely place I’d like to visit. I wonder if there is a place to lie down or sit?
Actually, there are pillows to sit or lay on, and you must take your shoes off upon entering so as to keep the relaxed atmosphere.
